Pink Gives Grieving Teenager In The Crowd A Hug During Her Brisbane Concert

Celebrities can have a huge impact on people’s lives. Some have grown up listening to their music, or watching their movies, or simply appreciating their art. Therefore, it’s sometimes extremely important to get to meet the people who have left a mark on your life. Someone who has influenced you with their points of view, words of inspiration and motivation. Someone who, through their voice and music, has made moments during the day a little bit better.

Pink (full name Alecia Beth Moore) is currently in the middle of her 31-date stadium tour of Australia. However, on Monday, during her Brisbane concert, she experienced a heartbreaking but at the same time heartwarming moment with a teenage fan of hers who was amongst the audience. As she was on the stage, she saw a sign that was written by the 14-year-old Leah Murphy and was passed from the crowd to the stage. It read:

My name is Leah – I’m 14 years old. I lost my beautiful mum last month. I would LOVE a hug… Please!

When Pink read the message she immediately went down from the stage and gave Leah a hug. The 14-year-old, later on, spoke for The Courier-Mail, saying:

It meant everything. It was a dream come true.

She proceeded:

She told me that I looked pretty. She said, “Oh, don’t cry”. She said that everything was going to be OK. Then she signed my arm and we took a selfie.

The singer signed her arm and gave Leah a hug.

Leah decided to attend the concert in place of her mother since her mother had tickets to attend Pink’s Sydney concert before it was rescheduled.

Leah’s aunt, Katrina Donkin, made it possible for her to attend the concert in Brisbane. She talked about the situation, saying Pink hugged Leah ‘so tight’ and that ‘it was so beautiful and meaningful’.

Leah’s aunt said:

We think her mum sent her a hug from heaven.

Leah’s mother died in June. She had been admitted to St. Vincent Hospital in Syndey, treated and discharged, after suffering from dehydration. She was sent to the hospital a day later and diagnosed with a gastric virus.
