With all the Royal Weddings we’ve been having lately, no wonder little Prince George and Princess Charlotte have gotten wedding-attending down pat. So, you could probably say they attend weddings these days with the air of a seasoned pro – and with how adorable they are, it’s not uncommon to see them completely stealing the spotlight, even (gasp) upstaging the bride!
This weekend, they attended the wedding of Sophie Carter – one of the closest friends of their mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and yes, they did steal the show. As a matter of fact, Carter is also Princess Charlotte’s godmother.
But they weren’t there just as guests. George was a pageboy, while Charlotte was one of the bridesmaids.
In true wedding fashion, both siblings were dressed in something blue. Charlotte was wearing a white linen dress with royal blue embroidered edging from one of Kate’s favorite children’s wear designers, Amaia, paired with a flower crown while clutching her mother’s blue purse, whereas George was donning a pair of cropped blue trousers, with a white shirt from the same children’s brand.
Speaking to People magazine, a source said:
George is a real star, quite the chap. He was having a great time, running around like the leader of the pack.
Duchess Kate, 36, also matched her children. She was dressed in a periwinkle blue coat dress by Catherine Walker & Co., paired with a matching blue floral headpiece and shoes, whereas her husband, Prince William, who was also present, wore a traditional tailcoat.
One of the Cambridges was noticeably absent, but seeing as he is only five months old, Prince Louis, Kate and William’s youngest son, was probably left at home.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte have also attended their uncle, Prince Harry’s, wedding to Meghan Markle this past May, as well as their aunt Pippa Middleton’s wedding to James Matthews in 2017.
In more royal wedding news, the first same-sex wedding just took place this month between Lord Ivar Mountbatten and his longtime partner, James Coyle, and we’ve still got Princess Eugenie’s wedding to look forward to in October.
