Relationships are a lot of hard work and anyone who doesn’t agree has simply never been in a healthy, stable relationship. No matter how much we love our significant other, there are times when you’ll have to step out of your comfort zone in order to meet them halfway somewhere. Aiming for a perfect relationship is a waste of time. There will be great times, but then there will be difficult times as well. What matters is that we find someone who is worth struggling for.
However, this piece of advice does in no way hold the connotation that you should deal with every kind of toxic behavior that is thrown your way. You have to set limits and boundaries and thick red lines that should in no way be crossed.
Let me introduce you to Miranda Baker who is an 18-year-old Iowa State University student. When her, now ex-boyfriend, called her ‘disgusting and unattractive’, she decided to do something about it, and dropped 200 pounds overnight, aka him.
She took to Twitter and shared her story:
After getting called disgusting last night, I successfully dropped 200lbs!! (Before and after pics).

Her tweet took the internet by storm when she uploaded a before-and-after picture. The first photo put on display the couple. While the second one was the same exact photo, except that he was cropped out. The lesson learned by Mandy is that life is way, way too short to spend with people who don’t appreciate you.
She explains in a Twitter direct message:
I was done with him. Then about an hour later he called me, yelling at me to apologize for leaving him! I said i will not apologize for leaving you after you called me disgusting and unattractive.
Usually, we roll eyes at anyone who suggests losing weight as a proper relationship advice. However, the way Mandy ‘dropped’ 200 pounds is something we encourage everyone to do. You deserve someone who wakes up every morning feeling thankful that you got their back. If you see that your partner doesn’t appreciate who you are and what you have to give, then we think it is time for you to ‘drop’ some weight.
You’ll find someone who will love you for all your quirks. They will love you for all those little details that you think are flaws.
