The 69-year-old actor Richard Gere and his 35-year-old wife Alejandra Silva tied the knot earlier this year and the “Hachikō” star is soon to become a dad again after 18 years. His wife announced the happy news on a post in Instagram, which she captioned:
A very special moment just a few minutes ago… Getting blessings for our precious to come.. we couldn’t say it before telling HH Dalai Lama.
And alongside was a picture of the Buddhist leader offering a blessing to the couple.
Gere and Alejandra wed this past April in Madrid after 4 years of being together and according to what a source told People ‘they are very happy with each other.’
They’re so comfortable with each other, have fun together and are looking forward to their future together.
This will be the second child for both Gere as he shares an 18-year-old son called Homer with his ex-wife, model and actress Carey Lowell.
In an interview with HELLO! Magazine Gere spoke about his wife Alejandra:
I’m the happiest man in the universe. How could I not be? I’m married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who’s fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who’s a great cook – and who makes the best salads in the world! Alejandra meditates, she’s a vegetarian, a great mother, has the touch of an angel… and she’s also Spanish: the land of kings and queens, of Cervantes and Bunuel… You can’t get any better than that.
Her wife Alejandra also spoke about her husband’s sentiments in an interview with Spanish outlet HOLA saying:
I was a little lost, without light and knowing him gave meaning to my life. It was feeling that someone was reaching out and showing me my true path.
