Rihanna has filed a lawsuit against her father in a California federal court on Tuesday, claiming that his business partner and he have been using her name in fraud. Reportedly Rihanna is suing them after they were trying to make money off of her. The 30-year-old singer declares that her father, Ronald Fenty and his partner, Moses Perkins are exploiting her name to get business deals.
The CNN got the suit against her father which reads:
Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf, nor has he ever been authorized to use her name, intellectual property or publicity rights. Similarly, neither Mr. Perkins nor the Company has any affiliation whatsoever with Rihanna.
In 2017 the two launched Fenty Entertainment which is a production and talent company which they used to exploit her name. Rihanna has been blooming in the business industry, she has her widely popular makeup line, Fenty Beauty which also launched in 2017. She also has her own lingerie line called Savage x Fenty. The lawsuit claims that Ronald and Moses have been asked to stop representing themselves as such and “to cease and desist all activity and efforts to exploit Rihanna’s name and the goodwill associated with the Fenty brand.”
According to the lawsuit the two failed to register the Fenty brand for a line of resort hotels.

In a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna opened up about her complex relationship with her father, who, she claimed did not have a happy marriage with Rihanna’s mother.
Rihanna said to Winfrey:
He taught me everything. As awful as he was to my mom at times, it didn’t compare to how great he was as a father.
