Stephen Curry has just shown us that he is a class act both on and off the court when he made a young fan’s day. A nine-year-old basketball fan from Napa, California, called Riley Morrison, sent a letter to Curry to let him know that she was unable to buy his signature shoes, the ‘Curry 5’s’ on Under Armour’s website.
Riley said that she was disappointed to find out that the shoes were being sold in the boy’s section of the web store but not the girl’s, that is why the little girl wrote a letter to the two-time MVP in hopes he could do something to help her out.

This is what the little girl wrote in her letter:
My name is Riley (Just like your daughter). I’m nine years old from Napa, California. I am a big fan of yours. I enjoy going to Warriors games with my dad.

She continued explaining her concern by saying:
I asked my dad to buy me the new Curry 5’s because I’m starting a new basketball season. My dad and I visited the Under Armour website and were disappointed to see that there were no Curry 5’s for sale under the girl’s section.
Riley then added:
However, they did have them for sale under the boy’s section, even to customize. I know you support girl athletes because you have two daughters and you host an all-girls basketball camp.
And she concluded the letter:
I hope you can work with Under Armour to change this because girls want to rock the Curry 5’s too.

Just 10 days after Riley sent the letter, Curry responded by writing:
I appreciate your concern and have spent the last two days talking to Under Armour about how we can fix the issue. Unfortunately, we have labeled smaller sizes as ‘boys’ on the website. We are correcting this now!
He went on to say:
I want to make sure you can wear my kicks proudly – I am going to send you a pair of Curry 5’s now and you’ll be one of the first kids to get the Curry 6’s.
You best believe he was serious, because his ‘Curry 5’ shoes can now be purchased in the girl’s section of Under Armour’s website. But that’s not it. The NBA champion went the extra mile to make his little fan’s day by telling her to expect a surprise soon, saying:
Lastly, we have something special in the works for International Women’s Day on March 8, and I want you to celebrate with me! More to come on that, but plan to be in Oakland that night!
Curry’s gesture was widely praised on social media. After his class act off the court, Steph hopes to show how good he is back on the court as he was out for three weeks following a groin injury.
The little basketball fan Riley will not only be able to buy the shoes under the girl’s section, but she will also enjoy a free pair of shoes from the star himself.
