Taylor Swift has been more or less keeping out of the spotlight lately only popping in from time to time to reveal her political leanings or donating $15,500 for a fan. No biggie.
Yes, the Shake It Off singer made a $15,500 donation to a fan’s GoFundMe page over this weekend.
A Swift fan, Sadie Bartell, took to Twitter on October 1 to post a lengthy message asking her followers to help her. “Hey guys. I’m really nervous to post this,” she wrote. “Please help if you can and pray for my family. I’m sorry I never said anything sooner and that I’m suddenly asking for help. I love you guys so much.”
Bartell reveals that her mother, Lauriann, has been in a coma for three years. She explains that she has never spoken on the matter before since she didn’t want people to think she was looking for pity or attention, however, she’s come at a point where she doesn’t know what else to do.
“My Mom has been in a coma for three years now. She had an ulcer that bled out that led to lack of oxygen to the brain which resulted in brain damage,” the 19-year-old fan wrote, adding that they now take care of her at home full-time.

“My dad is unable to work because he has to always be with my Mom. My older brother and I have to provide for our family. My family is in trouble,” she continued, adding a link to the GoFundMe page set up to raise money for her mother. She also wrote how Taylor Swift, whose 1989 tour concert in Nashville she attended, has helped her keep “afloat through it all” and thanked her for it.
“I’m happy to help take care of her and I’m happy to provide for my family but I am nineteen and everything is really hard right now. I feel like I’ve reached my breaking point,” the fan continued.
And apparently, Taylor saw the post and then proceeded to donate $15,500 to the family, singing the donation “Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift.” (Meredith and Olivia are her two adorable cats!)

After Swift’s donation, Bartell took to Facebook to thank her, and explain how much her generous action meant:
Everyone who knows me knows that Taylor Swift is my whole entire life. She has been there for me more than anyone. I really, truly, would not be who I am without her. She shows up every time I need her. She always has and she always will. I wish that I could express how much it means to me that ANYONE has helped my family over the years, let alone Taylor. She is the light at the end of the tunnel and is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me.
But this isn’t the first time she’s done something like this. Earlier this month, the Delicate singer donated $10,000 to Jacob Hill, an 8-year-old autistic fan who needed money to get a service dog.
