He is back ladies and gentlemen!
After everything, Tiger Woods has won the Masters this Sunday for the fifth time. Yahoo! Sports is declaring this “the greatest comeback in sports history.” The victory comes 11 years after his last one.
The 43-year-old won the tournament at Augusta National Golf Club 2019 in Georgia. The tennis player kept his cool while the other younger golfers went to pieces in the final round. He attained his 15th major victory exactly 22 years after he first won the Masters. And now, Woods has won the coveted green jacket five times in total.
Woods shared the special moment with his sons, Charlie and Sam. As Yahoo! reports he said:
I’m a little hoarse from yelling… When I tapped the putt in, I don’t know what I did; I know I screamed. To have my kids there, it’s come full circle. My dad was there in ‘97 [when he won for the first time], and now I’m the dad.
Woods looked ecstatic, screaming and pumping the air while celebrating the victory with friends and family.
The legendary golfer, Jack Nicklaus wrote a congratulations tweet to Woods:
A big ‘well done’ from me to @TigerWoods! I am so happy for him and for the game of golf. This is just fantastic!!!
Congratulations were in order from President Trump as well who was seen playing with Woods several times.
