Woman Who Sang The Satire Song Called ‘A Scary Time’ (For Boys), Performed At Jimmy Kimmel

Lynzy Lab went viral with her ukulele singing a satire song and now looks like she and her ukulele just got their silver-screen debut. Jimmy Kimmel welcomed the dance teacher on Thursday night to perform her viral song called ‘A Scary Time’  which Lab first performed after Trump responded to Brett Kavanaugh’s Senate hearing following an allegation of sexual assault (which Kavanaugh has denied), saying:

It is a very scary time for young men in America, where you can be guilty of something you may not be guilty of.

Singing her song, Lab had some backup on Kimmel, in fact, an entire chorus.

Although the song sounds very gentle, happy, and jiggly, it actually drips with sarcasm as part of the lyrics read:

I can’t walk to my car late at night while on the phone / I can’t open up my windows when I’m home alone… But it sure is a scary time for boys / Gentlemen band together, make some noise / It’s really tough when your reputation’s on the line / And any woman you’ve assaulted could show up anytime.

Go, girl.

Until now, Lab’s original video has received 11.4 million views on Twitter alone. Prior to introducing her, Kimmel noted that Thursday was the International Day of the Girl, which is a day to focus on female leadership to improve the lives of girls all over the world.

The comedian when on to say:

Until I started hearing these stories, I didn’t know what it was like to be a woman—about how threatened women feel a lot of the time.

As Lab began singing by herself onstage, a lot of women and young girls joined in providing backup vocals. Although remakes might get a bad rep, this might just be one of those cases where the follow-up outdoes the original.
