20 Of The Most Unusual Places People Have Gotten Married In

Your wedding day is often referred to as the most amazing day of a person’s life. It marks the day you and your partner decide that yes, we officially want to spend the rest of our lives together.

So, normally, we want it to be perfect, from the dress, to the food, to the music, to making sure your guests are all having a good time. Then, do you want a spring wedding? A fall wedding? Or maybe you want a white, winter one? And, of course, you want the location to be perfect too.

Some people are more traditional and will opt for a church wedding, others go for an outdoor one, either at a beach or a beautiful, flower-lined garden. Really, the possibilities are endless.

However, lately, more and more people are deciding to have their weddings in some pretty unusual locations.

“People don’t want their big day to be cookie-cutter,” says Anja Winikka, editor of TheKnot.com.First, the crazy new thing was destination weddings (which now represent around 20 percent of all wedding ceremonies) and now, just in the past five years, we’re noticing many more couples seeking unusual settings, from treetops to airplane hangars. For many couples, I think, it’s the weirder the better.”
