Zac Efron As Ted Bundy Will Seriously Give You Mixed Feelings

Troy Bolton, is that you?

Zac Efron has come a long way since portraying the high school kid torn between his career in basketball and his passion for singing. Nowadays, he is portraying the likes of Ted Bundy, the infamous serial killer, rapist, and necrophiliac who killed at least thirty young women in the 1970s.

And let me tell you, it’s giving us all mixed feelings.

I mean, on the one hand, that’s Ted Bundy he is portraying – Ted Bundy was an evil, vile man who mercilessly killed people, and worse. But on the other, that’s Zac Efron looking extremely attractive, or to put it in Dua Lipa’s words, hotter than hell.

I’m going to hell…

The new biopic, titled Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, tells Bundy’s story through the perspective of his girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who’ll be portrayed by Lilly Collins (hello, extremely good looking cast). Kloepfer struggled to accept the truth about her boyfriend’s nature for years, living in denial even after she was presented with evidence.

The movie, classified as a thriller and directed by Joe Berlinger, will be released in January 2019 at the Sundance Festival. According to Efron, who spoke to Entertainment Tonight back in March, the story will be very realistic and there will be no “glorifying” of Bundy’s persona.

“He wasn’t a person to be glorified,” Efron explained. “[The movie] simply tells a story and sort of how the world was able to be charmed over by this guy who was notoriously evil and the vexing position that so many people were put in, the world was put in. It was fun to go and experiment in that realm of reality.”
