As we age, our body has no choice but to slowly, for lack of a better word, deteriorate. There are tons of different signs to show that we’re getting up there in the years, but there are a few ways you can prevent your body from being so obvious in telling people that you’re no longer young, or prevent a lot of age-related conditions from happening in the first place.
Here are some signs that your body might be showing that it’s really starting to deteriorate, as well as how to prevent them and aid them.
1. Dry skin
Dryness is often caused when you don’t take proper care of your skin. To moisturize the skin and make it function properly, add plenty of olive oil, butternut squash and avocado into your diet.
While you might not be able to spot it at first, psoriasis can be linked to far more serious things, and it usually means that you’re lacking in vitamin C, which can be increased if you eat grapefruit, kale or red peppers.
3. Brittle nails
This is a sign of a lack of vitamin B and calcium in your diet. To bring them back up to healthy levels, include a good amount of avocados, almonds, collard greens and citrus fruits in your diet, and make sure they’re as often consumed as possible.
4. Bleeding inside the mouth
While this can happen due to not taking care of your teeth, gums and mouth properly, it can also be due to a lack of Vitamin C. Red peppers and kale, as well as other sources of the vitamin should go on the rise.
Insomnia is a condition where the sufferer is unable to sleep, in the most basic definition. This could be a sign that you’re lacking certain minerals and vitamins, especially magnesium. Add more leafy greens to your diet and this problem will be gone in no time.
Ever felt like you absolutely needed to get up out of your seat and in that same moment grab something sweet or savory out of the fridge or cabinet? People who crave salty foods especially are lacking in chloride, something that the stereotypical boring food, celery can provide. Lemon added to your water and substituting chips and candy for fruits and veggies helps an awful lot here as well.
